About me
I'm Ryan Cant, an artist rooted in the vibrant community of Fremantle, Western Australia. Since 2005, I've been channeling my experiences as a seasoned boilermaker and welder into the realm of art, crafting pieces that reflect both my technical expertise and creative vision.
My preferred medium is steel, a material that speaks to my industrial background, but I also find joy in working with wood, carving stone, and painting with oils on canvas. My artistic inspiration is eclectic, drawing from the ocean's allure, Australian wildlife, Japanese culture, women's fashion, and iconic global structures.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of showcasing my work in various exhibitions, including the 'METALurges' solo exhibition at the Fremantle Arts Centre in 2016 and participating in the Sculpture at Bathers event, a highlight in Western Australia's arts calendar .
